Understand the terrain
We examine the opportunity, buyer expectations, competitive context and what needs to change for your offer to make sense in Japan.
I help international companies enter and grow in Japan through hands-on business development, sales execution and lasting local relationships across technology, GIS, defense and luxury.
Japan rewards patience, preparation and people who show up. A strong product alone rarely opens the right doors.
For nearly three decades in Japan, I have worked across markets, cultures and industries, connecting overseas ambitions with the way business is actually done here. I bring senior commercial judgment and stay close to execution.
Each engagement starts with your commercial goal and the people who can make it possible.

I identify suitable partners and decision makers, prepare the story for local conversations and help establish trust over time.
From meetings and negotiation to pipeline and local coordination, I remain involved as plans become commercial activity.
Prospecting, introductions, relationship development, pipeline management, key meetings and follow-through.
Market positioning, go-to-market priorities, partner and channel assessment, and practical entry planning.
A local senior presence for international teams building distributor, corporate or strategic relationships.
Sharper messaging, localized materials and commercial storytelling tuned to Japanese buyer expectations.
The sales cycle, buyer expectations and partner landscape change by sector. My Japan business development work spans these fields.
Japan sales development for geospatial and 3D software: finding suitable integrators, translating technical capabilities into buyer use cases, and moving enterprise discussions toward a decision.
Business development for defense and security solutions, where procurement paths, technical demonstrations, careful preparation and sustained relationships shape a long sales cycle.
Market development and sales for fine jewelry and natural diamonds, from supplier and retail relationships to the way a Japanese buyer evaluates a high-value purchase.
“In Japan, trust is rarely won in a single meeting. It grows when you listen carefully, follow through, and stay present.”

I am Yaron Chervin, a Tokyo-based business development and sales executive. Since 2009, I have led Maverick’s work in Japan, developing opportunities and executing sales across technology and GIS, defense, and luxury products, including jewelry and diamonds.
My work is to turn an international company’s strengths into practical commercial progress in Japan. That means finding the right buyers and partners, earning trust, managing the sales process and staying involved through execution.
The first useful step is often a focused discussion of who will buy, who can introduce the product, and what proof a Japanese buyer needs. I help shape that plan and take part in the conversations that follow.

I support Japan market entry, local business development, partner and distributor discussions, sales pipeline work, meetings and follow-through. The scope depends on your product, goals and stage in the market.
My experience includes technology and GIS, defense and security, and luxury products, including fine jewelry and diamonds.
For suitable engagements, I can be a senior Japan-side contact, help prepare and conduct business discussions, and coordinate the next steps with potential buyers or partners.
I look at the distributor’s customer reach, technical or product fit, sales capacity and willingness to follow through. An introduction is a starting point; both sides need a clear role and a workable plan for the next meeting.
We clarify the buyer’s use case, decision process, concerns and next action. I help keep the dialogue moving through demonstrations, local coordination, negotiation and follow-up as the opportunity develops.
Tell me where you are today, what you hope to achieve in Japan, and where you need a local partner. We can begin with a straightforward conversation.
